Four young men were taken to hospital after the car in which they were travelling hit a wall in Wheatley Lane Road, Barrowford.
The incident took place yesterday (Monday), just after 1pm, at the junction with Carr Hall Road.
Police and four ambulance teams rushed to the scene, with three of the casualties having to be stretchered out of the car, A red Volkswagen Golf, after its roof was cut off by firefighters.
The road was closed until 2-30pm.
The men involved are understood to be from the Nelson and Brierfield area.
Watch Manager Caroline Harrison from Nelson Fire Station said: “The vehicle hit a wall and the ambulance asked us to extract three young men on long-board stretchers because of their potential body damage.
“The four were then taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment by the ambulance service. The car had been badly damaged in the accident. They had been injured but they were all conscious and breathing.”
No other vehicle was involved in the accident, it is believed.
