Four arrested after man stabbed in Brierfield street brawl

FOUR men have been arrested after a 28-year-old man was knifed in a “nasty” street fight in Brierfield.

The man suffered stab wounds when violence erupted between a gang of Asian men in Halifax Road on Thursday night.

A 42-year-old man also received facial injuries in the brawl which happened at 6-30 p.m. near to the Oasis off-licence.

The stab victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition

Police arrested four men aged 26, 32, 39 and 40 on suspicion of violent disorder.

The men, who are all from the Pendle area, were questioned by detectives and later bailed.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Withers said: “This was a particularly nasty and violent incident and I would urge anyone with any information to come forward and contact police.”
