A number of police officers were needed to break up trouble between rival sets of supporters following Burnley’s home game versus Sheffield Wednesday today.

It is believed a Wednesday fan may have been attacked with a glass in one of the pubs near to Turf Moor.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the fighting may have took place in or near to the Burnley Miners’ Club in Plumbe Street and at the Park View. The Miners’ Club was closed following the disturbance.

Cars were prevented from leaving the Bob Lord Stand car park for a short time as a result of the trouble.
