An empty house in the Trinity area of Burnley has been badly damaged by fire.
The terraced house in Pritchard Street, off Manchester Road, caught fire around 5-30pm on Saturday.
Firefighters believe the blaze may have been started deliberately, and spread from an upstairs bedroom into the roof space.
There was some concern that the fire would spread to neighbouring houses but firefighters contained the blaze.
Watch manager Steve Harrison said: “The fire destroyed one of the bedrooms at the back and was going through into the roof.
“We had to break in to bring the fire under control, which we eventually did.”
The police and fire service are now ivestigating the cause of the fire.
