POLICE are appealing for information following a break in at a house in Burnley last week.

Around 5-45am on Friday, a 34-year-old woman was in bed asleep at her home in Ivan Street when she woke up to find a man in her bedroom. When the offender realised the victim was awake, he ran from the house, leaving through the front door.

Officers are appealing for information and are asking anyone with any information to come forward.

Det. Insp. Marie Haworth said: “Having to come face to face with an intruder in your own home is a deeply distressing experience which has left the occupant shaken and we are keen to trace the person responsible.

“If anyone has any other information, no matter how small they deem it to be, it could be helpful to us so I would urge them to get in touch.” It is thought that the only item stolen was a black iPhone.

Anyone with information can contact police by calling and 101 quoting crime reference number FA1204334 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
