Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service turned to Twitter in a bid to identify a man they believe could be responsible for causing fires in the Coal Clough area of Burnley.
An intelligence officer for the service captured a CCTV still showing the man walking down a back street near a railing-topped high wall.
The image was shot early on Tuesday, at 6-32am.
The man is alone, and only a back view is clear.
However, the picture does show that the scruffily-dressed suspected arsonist has a distinct loss of hair, and that he is going bald on top.
He is wearing a blue jacket with possibly a red collar or hood lining, and a cream shirt.
His bluey/grey long baggy trousers have large pockets at the back and his black trainers have white soles.
In the Tweet, Mal Dewhurst (@maldewhurst) asks: Recognise this man? @LancsPolice want to speak to him regarding a series of fires in #Burnley #101 @LancashireFRS https://db.tt/jMGrw92M
