We have issued CCTV footage of a man who we would like to trace after a woman had her handbag stolen last month.

The incident happened sometime between 11.30pm and 11.50pm on Saturday 27 June as the woman was sat on the doorstep of her home address on Palmerston Street, Padiham, Burnley.

It is thought that a man approached the woman and took her bag before making off from the scene in the direction of Shakespeare Street. The handbag contained around £300 in cash, two iPhones, some jewellery and other personal items.

The man was described as white, 5ft 8 to 5ft 10 tall, of a medium build, with short dark hair and thought to be in his late teens or early twenties. He was wearing light coloured tracksuit bottoms and a light coloured shirt top with a large motif or writing on the front.

T/PS 1421 Michael Burnett of the Padiham Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the footage to get in touch with us as any information could help us with our on-going enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting log number 685 of June 29th. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
