POLICE have warned Audi owners in Burnley to be vigilant after thieves targeted their vehicles for expensive parts.
Car criminals have struck six times since May 1st across the area with expensive audio systems, media consoles and airbag units being stolen.
Police are investigating the thefts and have stepped up patrols in the areas where the thefts have occurred.
Crime Prevention Officer PC Phil Buck said: “The people responsible are clearly skilled at breaking into this type of car and are targeting the Audi’s specifically for their parts. “I urge people to be extra vigilant and to report anything suspicious to the police.”
Police are also asking car owners to park their vehicle in a garage or on a driveway under a security light. Alternatively people should park under a street light and in view of the front of houses where the cars can be seen.
