AN 18-YEAR-OLD reveller was left with nasty facial injuries after he was hit around the head with a glass bottle in a town centre nightclub.

The attack, which police say was unprovoked, happened on Sunday, August 7th, between 3 a.m. and 3-30 a.m. on the dance floor at Lava Ignite in Hammerton Street.

The victim, who was on a night out with friends, was dancing when he was approached by a man and hit several times around the head with the bottle.

He was left with cuts to his head and hands and was treated at hospital.

The attacker is believed to be a white man with brown hair and aged in his late teens to early 20s.

DC Steven Acres, from Burnley CID, said: “This assault took place in a busy nightclub and I am convinced somebody will have witnessed it and will know the person responsible.

“It was a completely unprovoked attack on a young man which left him with nasty facial injuries so I would appeal to anyone that witnessed anything to call police.”
