Burnley jewellers shop hit in terrifying night-time raid

A BURNLEY jewellers was raided by burglars less than a year after the shop was hit by armed robbers in a £30,000 heist.

Muzaffar Jewellers, in Brougham Street, was targeted in a terrifying attack early this morning as the owner slept upstairs.

The gang ripped off metal shutters from the front of the shop and smashed through double security doors to get inside.

Nothing was stolen in the raid but police have launched an investigation and are scouring CCTV footage from the shop.

The jewellers was struck in February last year by an armed gang – one of whom was dressed in a traditional Asian clothing including a burqa.

Around £30,000 worth of jewellery was stolen in the raid and four men were later charged with the offence.
