A Burnley fan is being treated for bleeding on the brain after he was attacked following the Clarets game with Leicester at the weekend.
Robert Lindsay (25) was punched in the face outside the Crown pub in Nuneaton as he travelled back from the King Power stadium with a group of fans on Saturday.
Police said they were called to the pub at around 9pm. Robert’s family said he had stepped outside on his own before being hit by a man in a completely unprovoked attack.
Robert was at the pub because he had got the wrong train home and was waiting for the connecting train back to Manchester.
He was taken to nearby George Elliott Hospital where his condition was described as ”poorly”. He was discharged and had to make his own way to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
