An inquest has been adjourned into the death of a man who fell from the Millennium multi-storey car park in Burnley.

Mr David John Howard (52), who suffered from mental health issues, had travelled to Burnley from his home at Moorview Way, Skipton, last Tuesday.

CCTV operatives alerted staff when he was seen leaning over the barrier on the top level of the car park.

He was then seen to manoeuvre himself over the ledge on another level before falling to his death.

Pathologist Dr Walid Salman gave the cause of death as multiple severe injuries. Mr Howard was identified by his brother, Richard.

East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor adjourned the inquest until November 25th.
