CANNABIS with an estimated street value of £17,000 has been seized by police in Burnley.
Officers discovered 43 plants in two bedrooms after raiding a house in Fairview Road.
A 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police took the action after members of the public reported concerns about drug dealing in the area.
Community Beat Manager PC Rachel Carroll, who made the discovery, has only recently joined the neighbourhood policing team. She said: “We were acting on information from the public and I hope people are reassured that we do listen to their concerns. “We know the impact drug dealing has on a community and I urge members of the public to continue to contact us with information – whether that is about drugs or other neighbourhood issues.”
Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
