Craig Royle pleaded guilty at Burnley Magistrates’ Court to stealing a bottle of perfume from Boots to help fund a drug habit.

Craig (48), of Lindsay Street, stole a bottle of CK1, worth £24.99, from the Burnley branch of the store on December 3rd.

In his defence it was stated his methadone prescription had stopped and he stole to buy heroin because of his drug problem, although he is now back on prescription drugs.

He sold the bottle of perfume for £10.

Craig was given a six-month conditional dischage and was ordered to pay £24.99 to the shop, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
