BREAKING NEWS: Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans arrested

National news reports claim that the MP for the Ribble Valley Nigel Evans has been arrested by police on suspicion of rape and sexual assault.

Conservative MP Mr Evans is also the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons. The allegations are believed to have been made by two men in their 20s. the offences are alleged to have happened in the MPs home village of Pendleton. The Prime Minister has been informed of the arrest which took place on Saturday morning.
