Police have issued an image of a man they need to trace in connection with the theft of a bank card, cash and tablet computer from a woman in Burnley.

The offence took place on the morning of Monday 24th June 2013 when the man took the property from the home of the 37 year old victim without her permission.

The couple had met a few weeks earlier and the man had been staying at the victim’s home close to Burnley town centre before taking her cash card without her permission and withdrawing £120 in cash. He also stole her nexus tablet and has not returned her calls since.

Police investigating the theft believe the man provided the victim with false details.

PC Alison Crew said; “This man betrayed this woman’s trust and she is understandably upset. We need to speak with the man pictured in relation to the offence of theft and I would appeal to anybody that recognises him or knows of his whereabouts to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference LC-20130624-0249.

“The man claimed to live in the Ribbleton area of Preston but originates from Manchester and may have moved back there.”

The man is believed to be aged in his mid-30s and has a squint in his left eye. He also has various tattoos including the name Kez on the back of his neck and Lauren on his left forearm.
