A 16-year-old boy had his wallet and phone stolen as he walked home alone in Burnley on Monday.

The robbery took place around 4-40pm when the boy was walking from Burnley College via the footpath that leads from Ashfield Road to Willow Street.

As he walked over the bridge onto the path next to the football pitches he was approached from behind by two men who grabbed him around the neck before stealing his black iPhone 3GS and grey Superdry wallet.

Both men are Asian, of slim build and in their late teens or early twenties. They were wearing all black clothing and one of the men was riding a black mountain bike with white stickers on.

PC Haydn Sibley, of Burnley CID, said: “Fortunately the boy was not hurt but he was left shaken. I would be keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the offence take place or have any information that would help with our investigation to contact me on 101 or 01282 472255.”
