“Coronation Street” actress Tisha Merry swopped the cobbles for a Burnley boutique.
Tisha, who plays waitress Steph Britton in the popular ITV soap, took time out of her busy schedule to choose a dress from Famous Frocks.
The shop, situated in St James’ Row, Burnley, is renowned for its celebrity clientele and it seems Tisha is a regular visitor.
The 21-year-old said: “When I come to Famous Frocks, I buy a lot of outfits that I can wear to special occasions. I like the fact that they have a wide choice of gowns/dresses to choose from in unique designs and if you are attending a big event such as an awards ceremony, you know no one else will be wearing the same dress as you! I always tend to buy clothes from here.”
Tisha, who lives in Preston, chose a nude coloured dress to wear at the Creme de la Creme charity ball in Cheshire on Saturday night (September 13th).
Speaking to the Burnley Express about her role as Steph Britton, the actress said viewers will soon see her character in a new light. “There are a lot of good storylines coming up for Steph from what I’ve been told, the audience will soon see her in a different light. “Steph may also have a love interest so watch this space!”
Jess Cunningham (27) who runs Famous Frocks, with her boyfriend Alistair Eccles, said she enjoyed welcoming soap stars and celebrities.
New mum Jess, who gave birth to Hatti nine weeks ago, added: “Tisha is a lovely girl and buys a lot of outfits from our boutique. She spent a considerable time here and was chatting to other customers giving them advice on dresses they were choosing to buy!”
