Thompson Park’s popular paddling pool will be open every during the current spell of hot weather to provide children with a chance to cool off.
The paddling pool is normally filled at weekends and during the school holidays, but during the current spell of hot weather it is open week days as well.
Simon Goff. head of Green Spaces at Burnley Borough Council, said: “It’s great to have some hot weather and we’ve had lots of people enquiring if the paddling pool is open and so we are opening it on weekdays during this current spell of hot weather.
“The paddling pool in Thompson Park is one of the very few remaining in the North-West and with a play area, sand pit, boating lake and a miniature railway (open Sundays) Thompson Park is a great place to relax with the children.”
