Concern is growing for the welfare of a man who has not been since discharging himself from a hospital 11 days ago.

Habib Miah (24), from Burnley, was receiving treatment at the Royal Blackburn Hospital when he left the site on Sunday, February 7th, around 5.15pm.

He is believed to have caught a hospital shuttle bus to Burnley and has not been seen or heard from since. His disappearance has been described as very out of character.

Despite an appeal earlier this week, police have been unable to locate him and have released a new image as part of theirr search.

Mr Miah is believed to be in the Burnley area or could have travelled on to the West Midlands.

PC 6478 Cat Horner from Burnley Police said: “We, along with Mr Miah’s family are getting increasingly concerned for his welfare, especially as it’s now 11 days since he was seen and because he essentially discharged himself from hospital when he may have required further treatment.

“If you have seen him, or know of his whereabouts, please get in touch.

“Similarly, we would also urge Habib, if he sees this appeal, to contact us or a family member to let us know he is safe.”

He is described as Asian, of medium build, around 5ft. 6in. tall, with cropped black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a grey t-shirt and black trainers.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting log number 1038 of February 7th, 2016.
