An infamous eyesore in Burnley is no more after it was cleared up following a recent tidy-up day organised by Calico.

The land at the back of Ribble Avenue had become overgrown, and was also full of litter, waste and dumped unwanted house items.

So, after a request from local residents, Calico’s Neighbourhood Action Team for Burnley North, with help from the caretaking team, cleared up the rubbish and cut back the grass.

Julian Whitley, sponsor manager for the Neighbourhood Action Team, said: “I’m really proud of the work the team has done.

“It’s made a massive difference on the area, the land is now completely clear.

“One of the residents I spoke to on Ribble Avenue on the day told me she was really grateful for the help, which is really great to hear.”
