Citizen Khan star to host Burnley charity event
Citizen Khan star, Abdullah Afzal, is hosting The BIG Muslim Variety Show, a Burnley fundraising event for the orphan charity Penny Appeal.
Abdullah, who plays Amjad in the BBC1 show, will introduce various entertainers after a three-course dinner at an event which marks the final celebration in the Smile Relief fundraising campaign.
Penny Appeal CEO, Aamer Naeem, said: “Penny Appeal has been reminding people that, in Islam, smiling is Sunnah - a tradition of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) and a form of charity. I hope people will join us and bring a better future to some of the most vulnerable children in the world.”
