A novice beauty queen is hoping to take the crown when she represents Burnley at the finals of Miss Galaxy UK early next year.
Chloe Ingham (21), who lives in Ightenhill, will join finalists from around the country for the prestigious event in February.
The part-time model and trainee teacher entered the competition on a whim after one of her friends took part a few years ago.
“I looked online and it just went from there. I didn’t hear anything from them for a few months but then I got a letter saying congratulations.
“Once you’ve got a sponsor they send you a sash and then you have to attend different events. I didn’t think I would get through at all. I was shocked when I got the letter.”
Chloe, who attended Holy Trinity Primary School and Hameldon Community College and is also trying to start her own children’s party business with her friend Ashleigh Williamson, now has a sponsor, Hair by Lizzie Flanagan, and will have plenty of support from her parents Gary and Nicola, sister Abby (24) and brother Mackenzie (9).
“They’ve been really supportive and are very excited.”
The winner of the Miss Galaxy pageant, which will be held at Park Hall hotel near Preston, will go on to compete against young women from across the globe in Orlando Florida.
But Chloe, who dances with Burnley troupe Next Level, said she is most looking forward to getting to know her fellow contestants.
“It’ll be great to meet all the other girls. Everyone is really friendly.
“ We’ll all be staying overnight. It would be amazing to go to Orlando.”
