A week-long celebration of Lancashire food and drink gets under way this weekend.

Showcasing the fantastic range of local produce available from the county, the special events will highlight where to buy, eat and enjoy local food and drink.

Organised by Made in Lancashire, the county’s local food and drink network based at Myerscough College, the celebration week includes Lancashire Day on Wednesday November 27th and features cookery classes, farm walks, Christmas taster evenings and Made in Lancashire’s own artisan producers’ market on Saturday November 30th at Myerscough.

Civic heads attended a launch event at The Parkers Arms, Newton-in-Bowland, where the team has created a game and harvest menu of three courses made from produce sourced within 20 miles.

La Locanda Restaurant at Gisburn is combining the best of Lancashire and Italy, and is offering a masterclass and a chance to meet local producers.

Made in Lancashire’s Ella Trickett said: “Businesses across Lancashire have joined up with us for this special celebration week. “These local businesses pride themselves on the fact that they support local producers.”
