Clarets mascot Bertie Bee and midfielder Scott Arfield served up a slice of a special cake at the relaunch of a refurbished furniture store.
Oak Furniture Land welcomed the stars and an impressive Bertie Bee cake to its showroom at Prestige Retail Park, Active Way. The enlarged store has doubled in size to 17,000sqft.
Jason Bannister, managing director of Oak Furniture Land, said: “Many of the products we have in the store are manufactured literally 10 minutes from here, so this is a great opportunity for us to make a genuine contribution to the wider community as well. I’ve been a Clarets fan since I was a kid and as a business we have got involved with the club for a number of years, so it was great to have Scott and Bertie here.”
Anthony Fairclough, Burnley FC director of commercial affairs, said: “Oak Furniture Land is one of our official partners.
“Our corporate partners are very important to us and we are pleased to support the store opening and wish them every success for the future.
“The Bertie Bee cake is a wonderful gesture and will be auctioned off to raise funds for Burnley FC In the Community and Children in Need.”
The cake was designed by Molly Robbins, of Molly’s Creative Cakes, Crawshawbooth.
