Christmas shoppers are being enticed into shopping in Padiham through a flyer with a Youtube link.

The flyer QR codes that can by read by smart phones to link with videos profiling 21 businesses in town.

The YouTube channel set up to support the Christmas campaign — www.youtube.com/padihamshops — feature products offers and promotional deals,

In all, 40,000 flyers are set to be distributed, with 37,000 targeting homes in Padiham Read, Simonstone and Hapton, and the rest being hand-delivered to primary schools, leisure centres and libraries.

High street businesses have clubbed together to pay for the flyers organised through Burnley Council and Scott Dawson Advertising which ran a similar campaign in Accrington last year. Some shops there saw a 50% upturn in trade in the run-up to Christmas.

As well as shopping information, the flyer includes information about the town’s history, winter events and leisure facilities.

A Twitter account set up to support the project has nearly 2,000 followers. It can be followed @PadihamShops for details of events, information and offers.
