Budding Mary Berrys and Paul Hollywoods from a Burnley secondary school baked a selection of tasty treats to raise £820 for charity.
Pupils at Unity College held the Valentine’s Bake Off to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation’s Ramp up the Red day. Around 50 young people from the school’s four houses baked colourful creations at home before bringing them into school to be judged. The winner was Jessica Harrison, from West house, and there were three runners-up. Jessica scooped a giant cupcake made by Cheemas Cakes as well as reward points to the value of £10. The school also held a raffle and tombola.
Miss Lauren Hill, leader of West house, said: “The standard of entries was really high. It was fantastic.”
