It’s full speed ahead for cyclist Phil Edmondson as he hopes to hit his fundraising target of £10,000 thanks to help from Burnley firms Rectella International and Flexible Reinforcements.

Phil (40) is undertaking a 1,000 mile bike ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End with a group of others in memory of Burnley-born four-month-old Kelsie Rose Broomfield, a relative who died from meningitis in 2006.

He is raising money for Ronald McDonald House, a place where parents of ill children can stay when they are treated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Phil will begin his bike ride on August 1st this year and he hopes to average 84 miles a day and finish in around 12 days.

Phil works at Rectella International, who are based on Bancroft Road and make barbecues, and also their sister company Flexible Reinforcements and they have provided bikes and will support the group along the way.
