Shoppers flocked to see a new £300,000 flagship store open in Padiham town centre.
Dozens of people were at the official opening of the new Original Factory Shop in Burnley Road.
The national chain, which sells everything from homeware and electricals to toys and furniture, set up on the former Tesco Express site.
Burnley and Padiham MP Gordon Birtwistle helped open the new store and said it was a great step for the future of the town.
He said: “The company has its head offices in Burnley and they employ more than 300 people there so it is great they decided to set up in Padiham.
“It was a site that was getting very derelict after Tesco Express left. But the Original Factory Shop has taken it on, done it up and spent £300,000 to bring it back to life.
“It is a great asset to Padiham, they employ Padiham people, they have a quality product and I hope people here will support it.”
Darrell Treece-Birch, area manager, was delighted to be opening the national chain’s store number 201 in Padiham.
He said: “It is the newest store we have opened to date.
“We are delighted to have invested in the area and the comunity here. We have employed 16 people from Padiham.
“It is great to have set up this new store so close to our head office in Burnley. It is a fantastic store and already we have had a lot of people through the doors.”
Bosses pledged to work with the community and a local charity in their Make a Difference campaign which raised £120,000.
