A Nelson barber took part in a hairdressing championship as a tribute to his well-known uncle who died of cancer.
Tariq Mehmood entered the industry competition to honour relative and respected hairdresser Mohammed Azam, who lost his cancer battle last year.
Tariq, of Albion Street, who works at Turf Impressions hairdressers in Burnley, took on some of the best hairdressers in the business at the contest in Blackpool.
He cut some eye-catching creations in the hair art category with patterns and colours that wowed the judges.
He finished the competition with a silver and two bronze awards.
Tariq said: “My uncle was a hairdresser at Second Impression in Burnley and I wanted to carry on his legacy. He was always really keen to do this competition so I wanted to carry it on for him.
“I am getting into it now and I want to do him proud.
“The judges were really impressed with the styles. I enjoyed the competition. It was a great experience.”
