BUSINESSES in Burnley and Pendle are being offered training to encourage them to go for the export market.

Ed Murphy, Director of International Trade at East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Exporters are key to the economic recovery and in East Lancashire, the general trend with exporters is that they are responding to the challenge. Overall, our exporters are doing well.

“But many companies that could trade internationally think it’s too hard to do.”

The Chamber has brought together experts in trade and logistics, including speakers from HM Revenue and Customs and the Russian Embassy. Training days will both assist novice exporters and act as refresher, and will take place from the end of January until mid March.

Some of the events are free.
