Healthy Lifestyles workers at Burnley Council hope more firms will take up the offer of health checks for their staff.

The free ‘MOT’, checks blood pressure and BMI (body mass index), and have already picked up undiagnosed issues.

Helen King (39), of Swindon Street, Burnley, had a health check through Westbury Filtermation on Network 65 and was referred to her GP for her blood pressure.

She was also discovered to have an underactive thyroid.

Companies booking their free health check before March 31st are entitled to discounted corporate memberships at St Peter’s and Padiham Leisure Centre with no joining fee – saving £100, and a free gym induction for all employees who sign up.

A minimum of 10 employees are needed to qualify.
