A teacher who has taught at the same school for 34 years, helping to shape the lives of two generations of children, has retired.
Mrs Lina Carpanini was presented with a watch and other jewellery by staff at Barden Primary School, in Barden Lane, along with a mountain of presents and cards from pupils.
Mrs Carpanini, who lives in Burnley, started her teaching career in 1979 and has taught hundreds of Year 3 children. Deputy headteacher Mr Brian Smith said: “We had a presentation in assembly for her. She has had lots of gifts from staff, children and parents. She’s worked here for 34 years so she really will be missed, hers are big shoes to fill.”
