Burnley NHS worker honoured with top human resources award

A BURNLEY NHS human resources professional is celebrating after being recognised in a prestigious regional award ceremony.

Jane Butcher, HR business partner in the surgical and anaesthetic services division at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, was shortlisted in the NHS North West HR Student Awards 2012 in two categories.

She was awarded a highly commended certificate in the HR/OD Role Model and Contribution to the Profession category and was a runner-up in the category for Outstanding Achievement in Patient-Centred HR.

Jane, was nominated by her manager, head of HR David Smithson, for her contribution and her commitment to personal development.

Mr Ian Brandwood, director of HR at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I am particularly proud of Jane.

“As an experienced HR practitioner she decided to supplement that experience by undertaking her formal CIPD qualification and, as a result, has further improved her practice and added additional value to the surgical division.”
