INTREPID bank workers cashed all the right cheques when they successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The six colleagues at HSBC’s Burnley branch – Clare Dickinson, Nicola Shingles, Claire Matthews, Kate Lightbown, Helen Hill and Kimberley Wood – conquered the 24.8 miles of Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside in 13 hours 40 minutes.

Their support driver was Michelle Jackson.

The weather was not kind with snow, hail and rain coming down as they trudged through the mud to raise £3,300 for the Help for Heroes for charity.

Match-funding from the bank brought the total to £6,688 for the charity.

The girls said: “We all suffered from sore feet and aching limbs afterwards, and not many of us were experienced walkers, but it was worth it.”
