Fourteen students who excelled at Modern Foreign Languages got their due desserts when staff from Sainsbury’s came into school to demonstrate how to make French-style raspberry tarts, adding a soupçon of culture to proceedings.

“The pupils really enjoyed it,” said teacher, Frances Moules. “Especially as they got to take home what they had made and Sainsbury’s kindly donated all the ingredients. It was a nice treat for them.”
