Burnley footballers sample spa day

BURNLEY footballers and management took time out from the rigours of the Championship by relaxing at the new £4m. Woodland Spa development.
The Turf Moor players got the opportunity to enjoy the new hydrotherapy facilities and sample the culinary delights of the recently opened Bertram’s restaurant at Crow Wood leisure complex.
Crow Wood director Oliver Brown said: “We’ve always enjoyed a great relationship with Burnley Football Club, so we were delighted to play host to the team and manager. They seemed to really enjoy the facilities and the dining experience. Having the first team down here certainly turned a few heads – I look forward to welcoming them back very soon.”
Burnley FC manager Sean Dyche said: “Myself and the team have been blown away by the sheer size and scale of the impressive facilities at Crow Wood and The Woodland Spa. The time the team have spent in the thermal suite will have been extremely useful from both a sports injury management perspective but also from a relaxation perspective for these athletes.”
Industry experts have described the development as “one of the best new day Spas in Europe”.
The Spa features a wide variety of thermal experience cabins and swimming pools (both indoor and outdoor) all procured from European industry market leaders.
The Clarets, meanwhile, are not enjoying much relaxation on the pitch. Following Monday’s turgid 1-0 home defeat to Hull City, the club now sit in 11th place in the Championship.
