A Burnley woman has been charged in connection with a robbery at a bank in Manchester city centre.

Margaret Kaid (54) of Cairo Street, Burnley, has been charged with two counts of attempted robbery, one count of robbery and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon.

She appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Courtand was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on September 29, 2016.

On Wednesday May 25, 2016, a woman attempted to rob Yorkshire Bank in Piccadilly Gardens armed with a knife.

On the same day a woman carried out a robbery at Santander Bank in Piccadilly Gardens armed with a knife.

On Tuesday, May 31, 2016, a woman attempted to rob Starbucks on Hanging Ditch.
