Members of staff were treated to the very special visit by the famously fluffy yellow guest in support of Children in Need, as Pudsey took time out of his packed fund-raising schedule and dropped by the town hall on Monday, 17th October.

The famous bear had a busy day strolling around Burnley with his collection bucket raising funds for this year’s appeal, with visits to the town hall and local businesses organised by the town’s Boots store.

Catherine Price, Burnley and Padiham town centre manager, said: “It certainly made an unusual day in the town centre. We’ve had a great reaction from people of all ages, and would like to say a huge thank you to all businesses that got involved!

“In Burnley we’d like to raise as much as possible though, so please do dig deep if you can! It’s a fantastic feeling to know we’re helping raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.”

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential.

It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the appeal.

The 2016 Appeal takes place on Friday 18 November on BBC1.
