Burnley toddler still seriously ill

THE two-year-old toddler who was found face down in Leeds and Liverpool Canal on Monday is still critically ill in hospital.

The boy was rescued from the canal at Pit Top Park by a PCSO after police were alerted to a missing boy in the Colne Road area at 5-05pm.

He was then taken by air ambulance to the Royal Blackburn Hospital and later transferred to Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances of what has happened and are appealing to anyone who saw a little boy matching his description, either alone or with his mum between 5 - 5-50pm in the Colne Road, Pheasantford Green and Pit Top Park areas to come forward.
