Burnley teen “critical” after serious road collision

A TEENAGER has been left fighting for his life after a serious road traffic collision in Burnley last night.

The 17-year-old boy suffered severe head injuries in the accident which happened as the teen crossed the road in Parliament Street at 7-15 p.m.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa was involved in the collision which happened at the junction of Oxford Road.

The teen was rushed to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The road was closed for three and a half hours to allow for collision investigation. Police are urging any members of the public that witnessed the collision to contact them.

Sgt Alan Baron, of the Force Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anybody that witnessed the collision itself or with any information that could assist with our investigation to contact Lancashire Police on 08451 25 35 45.”
