A FATHER-OF-TWO died after collapsing in the street just yards from his Burnley home.
The 61-year-old was found slumped in Sunderland Street in the Rosegrove area at 6-25 a.m. on yesterday morning.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics after a passer-by discovered him lying on the pavement just 20 yards from his front door.
Ambulance crews rushed him to the Royal Blackburn Hospital but he was pronounced dead at 10 a.m.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious but a post-mortem was due to take place today.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We got reports at 6-25 a.m. than a man had come across an elderly gentleman on the floor. He was unwell and he was taken to hospital but died shortly after.
“There are no suspicious circumstances around the death and we have referred it to the coroner.”
The family of the dead man have been informed by police.
