THE following incidents have been reported to Burnley Police:
A Burnley college was targeted by burglars in the early hours of the morning.
Offenders forced their way into the sports hall of Blessed Trinity College, on Ormerod Road, at 12-20am on August 17th.
They set the alarm off upon their entry, and ran away with nothing.
Burglars used a spade to force their way into a Padiham property.
A home on Valley Drive was targeted between 8-30pm on August 17th and 12-35am on August 18th.
The offenders used the spade, which was from the house’s garden, to get through the rear patio door.
A laptop, Nokia mobile, and a jar with £800 worth of £1 and £2 coins was stolen. All stolen property was worth a total of £1,380.
Two car retailers in Burnley were targeted by burglars on the same evening.
Incidents were reported at Perrys of Burnley, on Accrington Road, and Evans Halshaw, on Eastern Avenue, from August 19th to August 20th.
At the Accrington Road site, the offenders stole two rear alloy tyres from a Corsa that was parked in the forecourt.
At the Eastern Avenue site, a windscreen of a Ford Fiesta was smashed. It is believed the offenders searched the car’s glove box, for a wheel locking key. Nothing was stolen.
Items of clothing were stolen from an insecure vehicle in Burnley.
The Vauxhall Astra was parked on Lyndhurst Road on August 16th, when it was targeted. The incident is believed to have happened between 5-15pm and 5-30pm.
A black Berghaus jacket and some jeans were stolen.
Over £200 worth of property was stolen from a Burnley vehicle.
A satnav and charger was taken from the Mazda 5 Sport between 7-30pm on August 18th and 8am on August 19th. The incident happened on Lower Manor Lane.
Rear registration plates were stolen from a Cliviger vehicle.
The Rover, with the registration PJ02 DFK, was targeted between 9-15pm on August 18th and 1-15am on August 19th. The incident happened on Broading Close.
A series of incidents involving offenders slashing tyres have been reported to Burnley Police.
A van outside Casterton Avenue, and a Peugeot car outside Wynotham Street, were targeted between the night of August 18th and the morning of August 19th.
A man has been arrested after a police vehicle was targeted by burglars in Burnley.
Officers were dealing with another incident nearby at 12-30pm on August 18th, when the crime took place on Queensberry Road.
Enquiries are still ongoing.
A Burnley man has been charged with criminal damage and theft after he targeted an elderly woman’s home.
Jamie Shackleton (23) will appear before Burnley magistrates on September 5th, after stealing lead from a property on Piccadilly Road, and causing damage to the roof.
According to a spokesman from Burnley Police, the owner of the property was left very distressed following the incident.
