A charity cricket match raised £300 for the Burnley and Padiham branch of the Royal British Legion.

The event saw a team from Burnley Cricket Club take on the Scots Guards XI at Turf Moor. Burnley won the game by 60 runs while Scots Guards captain Rob Haworth was crowned man of the match after he took four wickets, two catches and scored 50 runs.

Kenneth Shapcott, gatekeeper at Burnley Cricket Club, said: “It was a wonderful day. Rob is coming out of the Army soon and we are hoping he will join Burnley.”
