FIREFIGHTERS were called to put out two rubbish fires at derelict homes in Burnley early this morning.

Crews were called to a property in Ivory Street, off Padiham Road, at 2-30 a.m. Two hours later they put out a blaze at a house in Grange Street in the Coal Clough area of town.

Firebugs had set alight rubbish in the back yards of both properties and firefighters said they were treating the incidents as deliberate.
