BURNLEY fire crews were called to a pallet yard in Springhill Road after some broken wooden pallets caught fire.
The incident happened at 10-45 a.m. on Monday. Luckily the fire was in a corner of the yard and firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading.
They used a jet to put out the fire. Crew manager Mark Hammond, from Burnley fire station, said: “The only concern was there was quite a bit of smoke and the yard is right next to the railway line. We managed to get the fire under control very quickly so there was no danger to the rail traffic.”
