A Polish-born student from Burnley has seen her hopes of competing in the famous Miss England beauty pageant dashed – because she does not currently hold a UK passport.
Beautiful Klaudia Kwaitkowska was chosen by judges as first runner-up in the recent Miss Manchester final – a place which should have secured her entry into the Miss England final, until judges realised she would not be eligible.
The 19-year-old, who lives in Sycamore Avenue, said: “I loved every minute of the pageant, and I was so disappointed when I realised I could not compete for the Miss England title.
“I am currently applying for a British passport so I will definitely enter the competition again next year.”
Meanwhile, Klaudia is busy studying for a degree in fashion promotion with styling at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.
The blonde-haired student was born in Poland and grew up in the city of Gdynia on the south coast of the Baltic Sea.
Klaudia came to England aged 13 with her mother Wioletta and went to school in Wigan before arriving in Burnley three years ago.
She added: “I really enjoy living in Burnley. I have finished university for the summer now, but I would like to pursue a career in the fashion industry.
While in Poland, Klaudia used to dance for the Olympic School. She was sponsored by Solrize Tanning and Beauty.
