BRIERCLIFFE: Local history group plans for 2011

BRIERCLIFFE SOCIETY – The appalling weather last Monday meant there was a lower than usual turn out for the Briercliffe Society’s first evening lecture of 2011. The speaker was Mrs Marilyn Willwhol whose subject was “Maltese Moments”, a splendid account of two holidays spent on the island. Chairman Coun. Roger Frost thanked Mrs Willwhol for a most enjoyable evening after which refreshments were served.

LOCAL HISTORY – The Briercliffe Society’s Local History Group will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26th, at Haggate Baptist Church. The speaker will be Roger Frost and later the group will discuss its plans for the coming year. At 2 p.m. the following day, Roger Frost will present an illustrated talk on the history of Briercliffe at Oaklands in Talbot Street, Harle Syke.
