Detectives are appealing for information after a 14-year-old boy was robbed of his scooter in Burnley.

The teenager was riding along Todmorden Road on his white ‘push along’ scooter when he was approached by another teenage boy at 6pm on Monday, September 2nd.

The other boy grabbed the scooter and after the two became involved in a struggle the 14-year-old was punched in the head before having his scooter stolen.

The thief ran off along Outwood Road towards Towneley Park. He is white, aged 15 - 16 years old, around 5ft. 3in. tall, of skinny build with short blond hair. The scooter is a white ‘MGP’ with black wheels.

DC David Walker said: “Thankfully, the 14-year-old boy’s injuries weren’t too serious, but nonetheless this was a nasty incident and we need to find the person responsible.

“If anybody believes they may be able to identify the offender or has any information at all about this robbery then I would urge them to contact police.”
