A FIERCE blaze ripped through a Burnley house early this morning.

The fire broke out at around 6-20 a.m. at the disused property in Milner Street.

Neighbours raised the alarm after spotting smoke and flames bursting through the windows of the unoccupied mid-terraced house.

Firefighters arrived to find the property well ablaze and spent almost two hours bringing the fire under control.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are on-going but fire crews refused to rule out arson at this stage.
